Additional Security Measures at All BAA Airports
Following the terrorist incident at Glasgow airport on 30th June, steps have taken to ensure additional security measures are in place at all British Airport Authority (BAA) airports. BAA Limited is the owner and operator of seven British airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and Southampton.
Procedures for dropping and picking up in front of the airport are severely restricted and there are strong warnings to all customers that travelling to a terminal building by car may result in significant delays. It is strongly recommended by BAA that either long stay car parks or public transport is used instead.
Hand luggage restrictions implemented last year also remain in place. Passengers are only allowed to carry one item of hand baggage, whilst liquids may only be carried if they are in individual containers not greater than 100ml capacity and placed within a transparent re-sealable bag, no larger than 20cm x 20cm (8” x 8”), and fit comfortably inside the bag so that it can be fastened shut.
It is advised to stay informed of all procedures for individual airports by checking their websites for the latest updates. Please use the links below:
