American Airlines to commence New York flights from Manchester
Friday, 18 September 2009
American Airlines has announced it will add a new service between Manchester and New York JFK in time for next summer.
The news comes just a week after Delta announced that it was withdrawing its service on the same route and so provides a timely boost for the airport.
The new American Airlines route is to commence on May 16th and continue throughout the summer until September 30th 2010. Flights to New York will operate on a non-stop basis, daily throughout the summer.
Earlier in the week, Delta had announced that its last Manchester – JFK flight would be on January 8th 2010. It has blamed a lack of demand for the reason behind its withdrawal.
