BA Resumes Flights To Saudi Arabia
British Airways has resumed its flights to Saudi Arabia following a 4 year absence. BA re-commenced the route on Sunday, offering a 5 times weekly service to both Jeddah and Riyadh.British Airways had previously offered Saudi Arabia as a destination but withdrew it in 2005 following a series of security scares.
On Sunday morning the three-class Boeing 767 was greeted in Jeddah with a water cannon and cheers from the ground crew. Shortly after the carrier’s second flight to the Kingdom - a four-class Boeing 777 - touched down in Riyadh, arriving from Heathrow’s £4.3-billion Terminal 5.
BA spokesman Paolo De Renzisc said: "British Airways has never taken its eyes off Saudi Arabia."
"We remain committed to offering our Saudi customers services befitting British Airways' long-established global reputation for premium excellence."
Evening flights to Jeddah will depart from London Heathrow on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, whilst overnight flights to the capital Riyadh will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
