Monday, 10 September 2007
Easyjet has reported a total of 3.7 million passengers flew with the low cost airline during August, up 17.8% year on year. Rivals Ryanair flew 4.8 million passengers during the same period with a 21% increase.
EasyJet’s load factor which acts as a key measure of how well carriers are filling their planes decreased in August at 87.4 with a decrease of 1.9, compared to Ryanair’s 91% for the same period.
Also, easyjet is set to close its Luton call centre, with the loss of 144 jobs. EasyJet will now move its operation to Poland and Berlin in a cost-cutting exercise.
