Low cost airline easyJet has unveiled a number of new routes for 2009, including nine new routes from the UK. Within a matter of months easyJet will operate cheap flights to new destinations from Newcastle, Bristol, Liverpool and Manchester airports with flights starting from £22.99 including tax.
EasyJet is to submit an application for a judicial review into the recent fee increases at Gatwick Airport. The High Court recently approved landing fee increases at Gatwick which the budget airline claims have risen by 21%, from £5.61 to £6.79 in 2008.
Low cost carrier been criticised by British Airways following an order from the Advertising Standards Authority to remove one of their adverts.
Low cost airline easyJet has reported a 22% increase in passenger number for September, carrying 4.2 million people compared to the same period last year.
easyJet is to proceed with an official complaint against Dutch airport operator Schiphol Amsterdam for increasing passenger charges. The budget airlines will file the complaint to Dutch competition authority NMa.

EasyJet this week celebrated 10 years offering flights from Stansted airport. The cheap flight provider’s inaugural flight from London’s third largest airport took off almost exactly 10 years ago, on May 21st 1998 under the brand name 'Go', which then merged with easyJet in August 2002, creating one of Europe's largest low-cost airlines.
High oil prices could drive many low cost airlines out of business due to high oil prices, according to easyJet France.
Holidays Taxis has linked up with easyJet to offer transfers on the low-cost airlines website. The transfer company now remains on target to reach its goal of two million passengers in 2008, a feat that would double the size of its business.
EasyJet today issued a warning that the "significantly" higher cost of fuel will cut its profits, a statement which caused airline shares to drop in Thursday morning trading.

After having many of its own adverts banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) in the past, Ryanair have now successfully appealed to have some of easyJet’s adverts removed for misleading the public.
