Eurostar To Resume High Speed Service
Eurostar has announced that it is to resume service of its normal timetable as of February 23rd 2009.
From this date, services are to operate at full speed with journey times returning to those experienced before the Channel Tunnel fire in September 2008. Eurostar is also to increase the amount of trains on both the London-Brussels route and the London Paris route. There will be up to 19 services per day on the London - Paris route and up to 10 on the London - Brussels route.
This follows the announcement from Eurotunnel that the Channel Tunnel repairs are to be completed by February 10th. Following this, there will be a short period of time where Eurostar will continue to operate its existing timetable – until February 22nd. From February 23rd 2009, the increased number of services will mean that there are some changes to the current timetable as a number of services will be departing earlier and some later than usual.
Eurostar has advised customers who are already booked for travel between 23rd February and 11th March, that their departure and arrival times may be susceptible to change. For the updated Eurostar timetable, please click here.
