eurostarEurotunnel says its terminal is at "saturation point" following three days of disruptions which have left thousands of passengers stranded and delayed. Day trip bookings are not currently being honoured, with Eurotunnel citing a "massive backlog" of passengers since Friday.

However, Eurostar has announced that it hopes to resume a limited service tomorrow (Tuesday). The full timetable details are subject to further tests on Monday afternoon.

The firm has urged passengers with non-essential travel over the next few days to change their bookings if possible, with the priority to get stranded passengers back home for Christmas.

More than 55,000 Eurostar passengers had been affected after six trains broke down over the weekend. Eurostar now believes that it has identified the problems with the trains, and has made adjustments to counter them. It is said that the recent cold snap in France has been worse than anything Eurostar has had to deal with throughout its 15 years of service.
