Heathrow Branded 'Worst Airport In Europe'
After receiving nationwide criticism for its handling of the opening of Terminal 5, London Heathrow has now come under further attack from a leading executive of American Airlines.
American Airlines European head of customer services Don Langford said that the BAA owned airport was the worst in Europe due to a lack of funding, branding it a “bit of a dump”.
Mr. Langford added “I would have to say that Heathrow is in many ways the worst of all the airports that my company flies to in Europe.”
BAA has lept to the defence of Heathrow, citing that future investment was imminent and conditions were improving. Tom Kelly, BAA director of corporate affairs had stressed to the BBC that: “This is an airport which was designed for something like 45 million passengers - we have now got 65 million.” A reported £4 billion is to be made available for investment over the next five years.
