kenya holidaysKenya’s 2007 tourism earnings have risen by 6.8 % to 60 billion shillings thanks to expectations of more than one million foreign arrivals this year according to the Kenya tourism board.

Jake Grieves-Cook, Chairman of the Kenya Tourism Board said that they will, for the first time have “over a million visitors flying into our two main airports.”
Earnings are steadily on the rise and expected to reach 60 billion Kenya shillings, meaning a huge opportunity for the east African country which can boast both sandy beaches and wildlife safaris to prospective tourists.

Tourism was the highest earner in 2006 as more than 954,000 foreign tourists brought in 56.2 billion shillings. This follows years of decline due to terrorist attacks in 1998 and 2002. One of the many factors in the resurgence of Kenya tourism was additional flights offered by airline companies.
