Kuoni Longhaul Travel Report

Kuoni holidays have released results of a report into the longhaul travel market from the UK. The report gives an early insight into what can be expected in 2007. With business up by a massive 22%, the Maldives is expected to keep its number one spot following its most successful year to date in 2006. Kuoni believe that the secret to the Islands continued success is the innovation which constantly sets itself apart from other destinations, Maldives hoteliers continue to come up with new product ideas and different types of rooms.

For the second consecutive year, Thailand retains the second spot according to the report. This is down to the fact that it offers tourists a multi centre holiday which Kuoni consider to be the core of Thailand’s ongoing success. One of the biggest movers is the US, which has jumped from 6th to 3rd with business up an impressive 21%. This rapid growth is despite the fact that the US had a very slow start to 2006 due to confusion over visa regulations.
