Kuoni UK Acquires CV Travel

As part of its expansion strategy, the group behind Kuoni holidays has announced the acquisition of UK based villa and ski chalet specialist CV Travel for an undisclosed sum. Kuoni UK acquires CV Travel from leading travel entrepreneur John Boyle, who originally purchased his stake in July 2004. The deal is set to become effective from July 1. John Boyle is also the founder of Direct Holidays and Zoom Airlines.

Kuoni UK managing director Sue Biggs has stated the intention maintain the three successful CV brands Ski Verbier, Owners’ Syndicate and CV. The present management team and staff will be kept on. Biggs added: “CV Travel is an aspirational brand that offers the best in luxury travel. In addition, its strength in the independent villa market, particularly in Europe, adds welcome depth to Kuoni UK’s mix of specialist companies and products.”

CV Travel was established in 1972, and originally specialised in renting private villas in Corfu, but has since expanded successfully into many other areas including Greece, France and Italy.
