Lufthansa is introducing its successful mobile boarding pass system for passengers on Lufthansa flights between Heathrow and Germany.
As of Monday 13th October, passengers that take advantage of online checking-in, will be emailed an individual barcode, which can then be used on a WAP enabled phone to proceed the departure gate. The airline says more than 7,000 passengers currently use the service each week on its domestic flights, as well as some of its European flights. Lufthansa’s general manager of UK & Ireland Marianne Sammann said:
“Selecting Heathrow as one of the key launch markets outside Germany for the mobile boarding pass demonstrates how much we value our UK customers.
“I am sure this new service will prove to be invaluable, particularly to business travellers, making their journeys simpler, more flexible and more convenient.”
The service is to be introduced gradually at all UK and European departure airports in the next few months.
