Morocco Steps up UK Advertising

morocco holidaysThe Moroccan National Tourist Office is to increase its 2008 UK advertising spend so that more destinations can be promoted to UK holidaymakers.

It has been announced that a €2.5 million investment is planned for a print, poster and television campaign, which would mean a 20% increase on the allocated budget throughout 2007.

The Moroccan National Tourist Office director of markets Rachid Maaninou said the additional budget would promote a number of different destinations in the North African country, including holidays to Agadir, Fez and Marrakech.

The Moroccan National Tourist Office has also unveiled plans to increase the amount of people taking a holiday in Morocco to 10 million by 2010.

Morocco holidays have increased by 37% year on year in 2007 to 376,000, cementing its place as the fastest growing tourist market for the second year in a row. An impressive 670,000 UK visitors are expected by 2010.
