For the next three days, Ryanair is offering free carriage of skis and snowboards to passengers flying to the alps. The offer applies to the first 10,000 passengers to book seats on a selection of flights to typical ski holiday destinations such as Grenoble, Turin and Salzburg.

Ryanair, Europe’s largest low cost airline will now offer its passengers the chance to book their flights on the same day as departure. In the Ryanair website, users can now book cheap flights up to six hours before the scheduled departure time, although they will still be required to go check-in online at least four hours before departure.
Ryanair has improved the clarity of the information featured on its website following consultations with the Office of Fair Trading. Last year, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) referred Ryanair to the OFT, after accusing the budget airline of ‘persistently misleading consumers’.
Ryanair have called for a speedier sale of Stansted airport following what it calls an ‘abysmal’ performance in May. In results released last week, London Stansted was the lowest performing BAA airport, experiencing an 18.5% decline in traffic, something which had been attributed to capacity cuts from financially hit carriers.
Ryanair, Europe’s largest low cost airline, has reported a £155 million loss for the full-year, which has been blamed on rising fuel costs, lower fares and the recent investment into Irish rivals Aer Lingus.

Ryanair has vowed to cut airfares by up to 20% this winter in order to combat a fall in passenger numbers as the economic slump continues. Chief executive Michael O'Leary confirmed his belief yesterday that the recession in Europe would last long enough to ensure Europe’s largest low cost airline has to slash its fares to maintain demand.
