TUI Wins UEFA 2012 Contract

TUI Travel has won its fight to become the official accommodation agency for UEFA Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. The European football championships are being held in the host cities of Kiev and Warsaw.

Thomson Sport, a dedicated sporting division within TUI, is to work with the European football organising committee to deliver accommodation services throughout the duration of the tournament. The multi-million pound contract states that TUI will provide approximately 200,000 beds across both of the host cities for UEFA officials, International teams, tournament sponsors, media representatives and commercial partners.

Nathan Wilson, MD of Thomson Sport, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded this multi-million pound accommodation contract for UEFA EURO 2012 and are excited by the challenge of helping UEFA deliver this event in Poland & Ukraine.

In addition to this, Thomson Sport was also recently named as an official tour operator for the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa. TUI Travel, which comprises of both Thomson holidays and First Choice holidays, is the largest leisure travel company in Europe.
