Thomson Airways Ready For Launch

Thursday, 02 October 2008

thomson holidaysFollowing last year’s merger between First Choice and Thomson Holidays, the business of First Choice Holidays and First Choice Flights Ltd will transfer over to TUI UK Limited, combining both businesses into one.

As a result, the ATOL number (the protection scheme for air holidays and flights), is changing from 0230 to 2524. The change, which is purely for legal reasons and will not impact on the security of holiday bookings, is part of a series of changes for First Choice as it becomes more integrated into TUI UK LTD.

A more significant change will take place on November 1st 2008, when First Choice Airways and Thomsonfly are set to join forces to become Thomson Airways. Customer will find that their flights will then be operated by Thomson Airways, with an individual ‘TOM’ flight number.

Fortunately for customers, this does not mean any changes to flight extras that have already been booked, including in-flight meals, pre-booked seats, medical requests and baggage allowances. The merger between First Choice Holidays and TUI UK LTD, which owns Thomson Holidays, was completed in September 2007, creating the newly formed travel giant TUI Travel.
