British Airways will now provide a first class cabin and has increased the capacity on its Las Vegas flight route after successfully launching the service in 2009. Upgrading to a Boeing 747, the flight provider will boost its capacity by 18 per cent on the Las Vegas route – an increase of 124 seats, 14 of which will be in first class.

It appears a resolution may be in sight to the cabin crew strikes that have plagued British Airways in recent weeks. Both the national flag carrier and Unite have pledged a ‘speedy resolution’ in a bid to end the dispute after holding further talks.
In a move to encourage small and medium sized businesses to use the company, British Airways has overhauled its On Business loyalty programme.
Airline heavy-weights British Airways, American Airlines and Spanish airline Iberia have agreed a deal to merge in an agreement which, if successful, will see their alliance ‘Oneworld’ become the world’s third largest airline.
BA cabin crew in Christmas strike - Tue. 15 Dec. 2009
British Airways cabin crew have voted in favour of strike action which is scheduled to take place over the busy Christmas period. The 12 day strike action will last from December 22nd till January 2nd 2010. Following a dispute over job cuts and changes to staff contracts, 80% of cabin crew voted in favour of the action, at a ratio of nine to one.
BA Make Baggage Allowance Changes - Tue. 04 Aug. 2009
British Airways passengers who are planning on a ski holiday this year will now have to pay to take their ski and snowboarding equipment with them. A change to BA’s baggage policy for flights departing after 7th October 2009, will no longer allow passengers to take either a pair of skis or a snowboard in addition to their luggage allowance for free.
British Airways has resumed its flights to Saudi Arabia following a 4 year absence. BA re-commenced the route on Sunday, offering a 5 times weekly service to both Jeddah and Riyadh.
British Airways has today announced its biggest loss for over 20 years, posting a £401 million loss before tax for the year to 31st March. BA made a revised profit of £922m in the previous year. Although revenues increased to almost £9 billion, it is the biggest loss that the carrier has reported since its privatisation in 1987.
British Airways has launched flights to Las Vegas from London Heathrow. The new route, which went on sale yesterday, means that British Airways serve 19 destinations in the US.
British Airways is ready to increase its services between London and Dubrovnik to eleven flights per week in the coming season. BA will also increase its Dubrovnik flights from London from the current three to four flights a week in winter.
